“She Ran The Whole Way Home.”
Seven-year-old Amara had been wearing shoes two sizes too small for almost a year, hiding it from her teachers so she wouldn’t miss recess.
When a KIC N 200 Shoes distribution day came to her school, she picked out bright purple sneakers — her favorite color — and put them on right there in the gymnasium. She didn’t walk home that day. She ran, telling every neighbor on her block along the way. Her teacher says she hasn’t stopped running since.
Amara stands taller in class now. It’s not just the shoes — it’s what the shoes told her: someone sees her.
What A New Pair Of Shoes Can Change
We share this honestly, and briefly — because the “after” is always the point.

Worn thin, held together with hope and good intentions.

Brand new, never worn, and picked out by the child themselves.

“Rebuilding, Together”
After losing their home, the Osei family found volunteers from The Broken Place on their porch the very next week — and a community that stayed.

“A Whole Classroom, New Shoes”
One partner school requested shoes for all 42 kindergarteners. Every single one got a pair, hand-fitted, on the same joyful afternoon.
